A Splash of Me!
A Splash of Me!

Photographer: Andrew Feucht - Senior
Dimensions: 8"x10"
Medium: Black and White 35mm Photography

This photo represents my personality and my creativity.  The water splashing from the glass is energetic and spontaneous.  I like utilizing photography to catch moments in time and display them in black and white; this process gives imagery a quality not offered by other art forms.

Give Peace a Chance
Give Peace a Chance

Photographer: Becky Sawyer - Sophomore
Medium: Plaster Cast & Acrylic on Canvas
Dimensions: 18"x24"

In this painting, my primary focus was representing peace.  To execute this painting, I created plaster casts of hands forming peace signs, and then attached the hands to the canvas.  The bold colors and patterns are inspired by the Peace Movement and the words are John Lennon’s famous lyrics.

Artist: Marcus Ragonese - Senior
Medium: Ceramics
Dimentions: 6”x 6” x 6”

I noticed most students were creating flat square shaped forms, so I decided to explore a more curved shape and experiment with adding a lattice style texture.  I feel it is important to create ceramics that challenge me and can be interesting to the viewer.

The World through My Eyes
The World through My Eyes

Artist: Margo Fredericks - Senior
Medium: Black & White 35mm Photography
Dimensions: 8"x10”

I want those who look at my photographs to feel intrigued by the imagery.  Photography subjects are already out there; one must capture subjects from a different point of view to make one question what your photograph is.  If a picture doesn’t intrigue people, they will walk right past.

Delicious Wonders
Delicious Wonders

Artist: Michaela Skalitzky - Junior
Medium: Pencil
Dimensions: 10”x18”

These drawings represent two of my favorite sweets.  The ice cream sundae required a lot of shading and detail.  I emphasized the different textures of the cupcake.

Self Portrait
Self Portrait

Artist: Samantha Fletcher - Sophomore
Medium: Pencil
Dimensions: 9”x14”

I created this self portrait to portray myself in a different way.  By breaking up the image into different areas, I was able to capture all of the detail I wanted in the various shapes.

Sunshine
Sunshine

Artist: Tayler Hurckman - Junior
Medium: Printmaking
Dimensions: 12”x12”

When selecting colors, I wanted to use warm colors to represent the natural sunshine and purple to contrast all of those bright colors.  It was important to use layers to increase the complexity of the color palette.

 Artist: Tom Rehfeldt - Senior
Medium: Prismacolor Pencil
Dimensions: 8”x10”

I created this image from a still life.  It represents the culture of the in-home card players and the search for the perfect hand.  But nothing in life is perfect, which is shown with the imperfection of the card.
