Classes offered in the Math Department at CHS are Algebra, Geometry, Applied Geometry, Advanced Algebra, Applied Advanced Algebra, Into to Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus.
Students planning to attend a 4 year college should take Algebra, Geometry, and Advanced Algebra at the minimum. To be competitive with other students entering college, we recommend taking Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus.
Students planning to attend a 2 year college should take Algebra, Geometry and Advanced Algebra (or Algebra, Geometry and Vocational Math) at the minimum.
Math Club is an extracurricular activity run by the math department. Anyone at any grade level is welcome to join. Math Club meets during Activity Period once a month. Two events that Math Club participates in every year are the fall and spring math meets. The fall meet is held at CHS in November, and the spring meet is held at alternating districts in our conference in March. Students do not need to be members of Math Club to participate, but it is encouraged.
