All high school students are required to complete two credits of science for graduation. The CHS College Certificate requires three credits. Colleges usually expect three or more science credits for entrance, and most look for students with Biology, Chemistry, and an advanced science. Check with your chosen college for specific requirements.
Freshmen may begin their science sequence with either Science 9 or Biology. Additional credits in science may come from the course list. Electives do have science and math prerequisites, so be sure to check the course handbook. All science courses are beneficial to those students interested in a general education, vocational training or college preparation.
