Summer School

Columbus School District's Summer School program is open to students who will be entering grades K-12 in the fall. Columbus School District's program is divided into two, three week sessions. There are a few courses with non-traditional dates/hours that are noted in the Summer School Course Catalog. Summer programming includes enrichment, intervention, and credit/skills recovery. Courses cover a variety of content areas including, but not limited to reading, mathematics, STEM, art, etc. Students who are about to enter kindergarten are invited to come get a taste of what that will be like in our Step Up to Kindergarten course. A popular option for middle and high school students is Cardinal Conditioning, a strength and conditioning course that is one continuous session over both halves of summer school.

Most of our Summer School staff are teachers and support staff who work with our students during the regular school year.

• July 7-25 (Session 2, Grades 1-9)

• June 9-27 & July 7-25 (Cardinal Conditioning, Grades 7-12)
  • 6:45-8:30 or 8:45-10:30am @ Columbus High School (Grades 9-12)
  • 10:45am-noon @ Columbus High School (Grades 7-8)
• June 10-19 & July 8-26 (Skills/Credit Recovery, Grades 7-12)
  • 8:30-11:30am @ Columbus High School
• July 16-17 (College and Scholarship Application Writing, Workshop 1, Grades 11-12)
  • 9:00-11:00am @ Columbus High School
• July 29-30 (College and Scholarship Application Writing, Workshop 2, Grades 11-12)
  • 6:00-8:00pm @ Columbus High School

2025 Summer School Registration is open March 6-April 6th.

After Summer School registration has closed, registration will continue to be accepted for any course that has space through the first day of that session; However, you will need to contact your child's principal to register.

• Do you reside within the Columbus School District attendance boundaries?
• Was your student not enrolled as a full time student in Columbus School District during the regular school year?
• Do you want your student to attend Columbus School District Summer School this summer?

If you answered yes to all three of these questions, please follow the instructions below.

1. To register for summer school, submit the Summer School 2025 Registration Form for each student attending.

2. If a student resides in Columbus School District but does not currently attend the public schools (ex: private school or homeschooled during the regular school year), please contact Stacey Post at spost@columbus.k12.wi.us or call at (920) 623-5950, ext. 3152.

Unfortunately, Columbus School District is not able to provide bus service during Summer School.

Breakfast and lunch will be available during summer school to all students who are attending Summer School courses.

• Breakfast will be served from 8:10-8:30am at Columbus Elementary School.
• Lunch will be served from 11:30-12:00 at Columbus Elementary School.

Summer Meal Costs

As costs for everything are on the rise, our main concern is making sure we are providing nutritious meals to students registered in summer school Let us help your family by completing the meals benefits application prior to summer school if you have not already done so during the regular school year. If you were approved for meal benefits during the current school year, those benefits carry over to the summer. If you would like assistance in completing the form, please call Stacey Post at (920) 623-5950 ext. 3152 for an appointment.

Students must have the proper medical forms on file in order to receive medication at school during summer school. Medication forms that were filled out for the 2024-25 school year will be valid for Summer School Session 1 (June 9-27) and Session 2 (July 7-25).
