Welcome to the Columbus School District Health Services page, a primary resource for student wellness and school nursing care. Below you will find detailed information on our school nursing services and easily access essential medication paperwork, immunization forms, and health and action plans for chronic medical conditions. The Columbus School District health services includes:

• administration and management of prescription, over-the-counter and emergency medications 
• prompt assessment and treatment for acute illnesses and injuries 
• long-term management of students with chronic health conditions and special health-related needs
• development and coordination of individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and emergency action plans (EAPs) for chronic medical conditions and other health concerns
• provision of staff development on student health needs, medication administration, select nursing procedures, health promotion and disease prevention
• immunization surveillance, outreach, documentation and reporting in compliance with state regulations
• infection control and disease prevention; as needed in collaboration with the local health department
• assist in providing developmentally appropriate curriculum and education to students on topics such as nutrition, hygiene and reproductive health
• annual vision and hearing screenings based on recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics
• health education and counseling for students related to primary and secondary prevention, health literacy
• development and maintenance of nursing and health related policies and procedures for our district
• participation in IEP, 504 meetings, when deemed appropriate
• connecting families with local nursing and public health resources; referrals to community organizations
• collaboration with community partners
