Stock Medications

The Columbus School District offers a stock, over-the-counter, medication program to students during the regular school day. The following medications can be made available to students:

  • acetaminophen
  • ibuprofen
  • diphenhydramine
  • cough drops
  • antacids
  • antibiotic ointment
  • hydrocortisone cream

Please review the information below and fill out the required consent form if you would like your student to participate in this program. 

Information for Parent/Guardian

Written parent/guardian consent is required before the school district can administer any stock over-the-counter medications. No stock over-the counter medications will be given without a consent form on file. 

Consent is valid for the current school year only. A new form is required to be completed with the start of each school year. 

Designated school personnel will only administer the recommended, therapeutic dose, as indicated on the manufacturer label/packaging. 

Stock over-the-counter medications will not be available during field trips, athletics, or other before/after-school activities.
