Open Enrollment

OPEN ENROLLMENT APPLICATION PERIOD
February 2, 2026 at Midnight through April 30, 2026 at 4:00pm  

Existing Open-Enrolled students attending Columbus School District will not need to Open-Enroll for the 26-27 school year. The previous approval continues from year to year, including the upcoming school year, as our policy does not require annual Open Enrollment applications.

Non-Resident students that would like to attend Columbus School District in the 26-27 school year, please proceed with the Open Enrollment process.

Applications may be obtained from the Department of Public Instruction; or apply on-line.

The Columbus School District Board of Education approved the number of open enrollment available seats during the January 12, 2026 Board of Education Meeting.  2026-2027 Open Enrollment Space Availability

The 2026-2027 Open Enrollment Regular Application Period Brochure in English, Spanish, and Hmong for the upcoming open enrollment regular application period are now available on our open enrollment website.

Parents/guardians will receive notices of approval/denial during the second week of June. Please respond to approval notices with your Intent to Attend for each student by June 27th. Once the District receives confirmation that your student(s) will attend, enrollments will be created and your student's records will be requested from their previous school.

Once the form is completed, it must be submitted to the school district to which you are applying.
